Claremont House
providing residential care for the elderly
Claremont is a 30 bedroomed home, surrounded by scenic countryside and situated in large mature gardens, approximately 1.5 miles from Corsham, Wiltshire.
Built of Bath stone over two storeys, we provide a high standard of elderly residential care 24 hours per day. We offer both long and short term stays, respite care and day care.
Our rooms are all single, 25 of which have en suite facilities, and all attractively furnished.
Residents are encouraged to personalise their own rooms with photographs, pictures, ornaments and small items of furniture.
All bedrooms either overlook our developed gardens or nearby fields and residents are encouraged to make use of the extensive grounds when the weather permits.
The home has a large sunny lounge, a small “quiet” lounge, dining room and hairdressing salon. WiFi access is available throughout the home.

There is a nurse call system and 24 hour closed circuit television coverage of the exterior of the building. The home is serviced by a doctor from one of the local surgeries.
A laundry service is operated on site. Chiropody, manicures and newspaper delivery are available.
Catering is of a high standard at Claremont, providing nutritionally balanced, wholesome meals with dietary needs catered for.
There are no specific visiting times although visitors to the home are encouraged to visit outside of meal times.
A monthly communion service, conducted by a local vicar, is held at the home, to which all denominations are welcome to attend.

ACTIVITIES
Our dedicated activities co-ordinator provides a wide range of activities to interest and stimulate the physical and mental state and well being of the residents. The choice of activities include cooking, pottery classes, flower arranging, a knitting club, carpet bowls, either group or one to one reminiscence sessions and more. Outings to local attractions are also arranged from time to time. Outside performers and entertainers are engaged on a regular basis and have proved very popular with our resident.

STAFF AND TRAINING
All staff are selected for their qualities of reliability, integrity, skill, friendliness and professionalism.
All our care staff hold or are working towards a diploma in Health and Social Care level 2, whilst our senior carers have a Health and Social Care level 3 qualification. We also encourage them to further their knowledge and skills and a variety of skill based training relevant to our resident group is available from our in-house training team, as well as external tuition/courses.
FINANCIAL ARRANGEMENTS AND FEES
Claremont, being a charitable trust, is a non profit making organisation. All funds generated are used for the care of the residents and the day to day running of the home.
Depending on their personal financial position, a resident can either pay the fees privately or receive benefits arranged by the local authority, whereupon a bursary arrangement is offered by the company to those who qualify.
The current rules can be complicated and specific advice is available from the manager.
